About Rotary International

What would it take to change the world? Rotary's 1.2 million members believe it starts with a commitment to Service Above Self.

In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you'll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio through its world famous Polio Plus program.

Rotary sponsors and supports numerous programs for high school and college students, exemplifying the credo that our future lies with our youth.  You won't have to travel far to see the evidence of a Rotarian at work, whether through a small a civic project or country-wide humanitarian/disaster relief effort.

Have you found yourself wanting to give and make an impact in your community and society?  Then maybe it is time for you to join Rotary and experience the joy and satisfaction of helping others.  The City of Carlsbad offers two outstanding and very active clubs - the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Club and the Carlsbad Rotary Club.

Carlsbad Hi-Noon Club

The Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club welcomes Rotarians and other visitors to its Monday meetings. A buffet lunch with salads and hot entrees is open at noon, with the business meeting beginning at 12:20 p.m. We meet at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

The Club, chartered in 1980, has 97 members. The membership is very active and committed to the Rotary principle of "Service Above Self."  The club sponsors an energetic Interact Club at Carlsbad High School and each year sends both facilitators and students to the annual RYLA conference for high school juniors and the Rotary LEAD symposium for eighth graders.

The club co-sponsors Oktoberfest held the first Saturday in October in Holiday Park, Carlsbad. A traditional family event, this year marks the 33rd anniversary of the Oktoberfest. Proceeds from Oktoberfest are shared with Carlsbad charities and used by the club for its many local community projects.

Carlsbad Rotary Club

The Carlsbad Rotary Club was chartered in 1939 and has a 76 year history of service and fellowship within our community.  We are proud of the philanthropic work that we do locally, regionally, and internationally. Our evening dinner meetings offer a casual environment that allow people an opportunity to get to know one another, develop friendships, and establish business and social networks.

Members of Rotary are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs and to promote peace and understanding throughout the world.

The Carlsbad Rotary Club has been an active and dynamic organization within the greater Carlsbad community for close to a century.  We sponsor and support numerous local charities as well as international relief/aid projects in the spirit of "think globally, act locally". Last year our club contributed over $39,000 in philanthropic aid to local charity organizations.

If you have any questions about Rotary and membership within our club, we will be happy to meet with you in person.  Please contact our Membership Chair, Pete Rogers at pete_rogers@glic.com, or speak with any club officer.  We wish a wonderful time at Oktoberfest!
